Friends of The Corner,
We took November off, but The Corner returns to Guthries restaurant on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7pm. The theme is “Disillusioned,” because what else would you expect in December from your Scrooge McHost, Michael Sargent? But seriously, come join us for some stories.
We have a great lineup of pre-picked tellers, all Corner veterans. The Mainers telling will be Skylar Bayer, Bee, and Misty Parker. Joining us from Massachusetts is Massmouth teller Jannelle Codianni. And joining us from Vermont is Moth teller Kevin Gallagher (who also told at Sound Bites, which The Corner helped run this past spring, summer, and fall). And our emcee of the night will be Crystal Farrington, aka Marilyn Melons of Portland-based Voulez-Vous Burlesque. Also, there will be five spots to be filled by random draw from the fishbowl. And we’ll do the “tell your neighbor” workshop, so come ready with your own short story about disillusionment. (For tips on preparation to tell in this warm and friendly environment, go here.)
Most seating will go on a first come, first served basis, but at 5pm on December 1, a tiny batch of ten tickets will be released online. If you buy one of those, it will guarantee you entry, as long as you arrive by 6:40pm. Email me with questions.
For now be well, and keep on keepin’ on.
Hugs and kisses,
The Corner is a live monthly storytelling event that calls Lewiston, Maine home. At every installment of The Corner, ten people each get a short time slot (usually five minutes) in which to tell a true, first-person story, without notes, always on a specific theme. It thrives because people just like you come tell their stories. You have a story to tell too. Come to The Corner to tell it.
